Joey Lehto joined the Bluejays in the spring of 2021 and is in his first season with the Bluejays as an assistant coach. Lehto will serve as the team’s Offensive Coordinator will also coaching the Bluejays’ offensive line.
Letho joins Elmhurst after spending the past three years at Lakeland University. Lehto joined the Muskie’s staff as the run game coordinator and offensive line coach in 2018 and took over duties as the Offensive Coordinator in 2019. Lehto’s offensive line produced two 1,000 yard rushers in 2019 and the top two running backs in school history.
He spent the 2016 and 2017 seasons coaching at St. Norbert College. He coached the running backs in 2017 and worked with the defensive line in 2016.
Lehto began his coaching career at Lakeland, serving as a graduate assistant coach working with the linebackers from 2013-15. He was a part of back-to-back NACC Championship teams that ranked nationally amongst the top-25 defenses in the nation.
Lehto played collegiately at Lakeland and earned his bachelor’s degree in 2013. He completed his master’s degree from Lakeland in 2016.
