Education:
Phelps graduated from Elmhurst in 2019 with his bachelor's degree, and earned his master's degree from Roosevelt University in 2020.
Responsibilities:
Phelps works with the special teams unit for Elmhurst football, and also assists with the defensive line.
Prior Experience:
Phelps is no stranger to Elmhurst after playing for the Bluejays for four years (2015-19). A three-year letterwinner for the Bluejays at linebacker, Phelps ranked fourth on the Bluejays in tackles while also recording six tackles for loss during the 2018 season.Â
After graduating Elmhurst in 2019, Phelps began his coaching career at Roosevelt University. He coached the defensive ends and also worked with the linebackers and nickelbacks. He and spent six months working as an assistant defensive line coach with Eastern Illinois University.Â
