Curtis Simonson joins the Bluejays after coaching at the high school ranks for over 20 years.
Simonson spent the past four seasons as the defensive coordinator at the Erick Solorio Academy. From 2006-2014 he served as the assistant head football coach and offensive coordinator at Argo High School. He also had coaching stints at Oak Lawn High School, Marist High School, Evergreen Park High School, Rocky Mountain High School (Wyoming), Macy High School (Nebraska) and Pleasanton High School (Nebraska). He served as the head coach at Macy (1994-95), Pleasanton (1995-96) and Rocky Mountain (2003-04). Simonson coached at the collegiate level in 2003-04 at St. Francis University, serving as the team's offensive backs and quality control coach.
Simonson was a two-sport athlete at Concordia University (Nebraska). He was a four-year starter on the football team while also starting at short stop for the baseball team. He earned all-conference honors in both sports while also serving as team captain in football.
