WHEATON, Ill. - The Elmhurst University women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 road decision at Wheaton College on Saturday afternoon at Joe Bean Stadium in the CCIW opener.

The match was tightly contested from start to finish, with Wheaton (4-3-3, 1-0 CCIW) netting the lone goal in the 54th minute. Lily Lindquist converted for the Thunder at 53:45, finishing off a pass from Emily Setran to break the scoreless deadlock.

Elmhurst (8-2-1, 0-1 CCIW) managed four total shots in the match, two coming in the first half from Kelli Coughlin and Courtney Conlon. Emily Herlihy added another attempt late in the first half, while Lauren Nevins fired just wide in the 87th minute as the Bluejays pushed for an equalizer.

Goalkeeper Erin Fitzharris kept the Bluejays within reach with three second-half saves, including back-to-back stops in the 58th minute on shots from Lily Lindquist and Grace Crowder. Fitzharris finished with three saves against 13 Wheaton shots.

The Bluejays registered two corner kicks in the second half and were whistled for three fouls on the day. Wheaton held a 13-4 advantage in shots, including four on frame, and collected two corners.
