RECAP

CHICAGO, Ill. - Elmhurst dropped a CCIW road matchup at North Park, falling 34-6 at the Holmgren Athletic Complex in Chicago. The Vikings built momentum with two first-quarter touchdowns and never trailed, while the Bluejays' lone score came on a long run from Jeffery Elms in the second quarter.

North Park struck first midway through the opening quarter, capitalizing on a missed Elmhurst field goal attempt that was returned 85 yards for a touchdown. The Vikings added a 16-yard touchdown pass late in the quarter to carry a 14-0 advantage into the second. Elmhurst broke through at the 6:56 mark of the quarter, when Elms broke free for an 83-yard touchdown run. The extra-point attempt was blocked and returned by North Park for a defensive two-point conversion, leaving the Bluejays trailing 16-6 at halftime.

The Vikings extended their lead in the third quarter with a 26-yard field goal, pushing the margin to 19-6. North Park then sealed the game in the final period, scoring on a one-yard touchdown run with a successful two-point conversion before adding a seven-yard rushing touchdown to close out the 34-6 win.
