ELMHURST, IL - The Elmhurst University women's lacrosse team hosted North Central College on Saturday morning of April 12th.Â
Bluejays (5-4, 0-1 CCIW), were led by
Gracie Eastman as she scored two goals while adding an assist, Jacq Vanonu would also make 21 saves on the day.Â
Cardinals ( 8-3, 1-0 CCIW), were led by Annelise Oster as she scored three goals on the day.Â
The game started off with Tori Leonard scoring for NCC just after a minute into the game.
Hannah Jacob would tie up the game two minutes later on a man-up goal, which would round up the goals from the First quarter. It was also a slow Second quarter as the Cardinals would score the lone goal as Oster would score her first of the day.Â
The Second half is where we saw a majority of the offense. The Jays would score three straight to open up the Third quarter to take a 4-2 lead, but the Cardinals would close out the quarter by scoring two of their own to even up the game 4-4 going into the Fourth quarter. Oster would score her second of the day to open up the scoring and giving the Cards a 5-4 lead. Eastman and
Paige Moniz would then both score not even thirty seconds apart to reclaim the lead for the Jays, 6-5. However, the Cardinals would then score with five minutes remaining to tie it up and then a minute and a half later to claim the lead once again. The Cardinals would add one more goal to finish off the game 8-6.Â
