Elmhurst University faced off against two nationally ranked opponents at Quincy University and came away with seven individual wins. The Bluejays fell short in both efforts, dropping a hard-fought dual against Aurora University 28-21 and falling to host Quincy 31-15. The Jays fall to a team record of 3-5 in duals on the season.
The effort was not without its highlights with Julie Lefort leading the way with two falls. The 180 pound wrestler earned her two pins with both coming the first period of her matches. Regarding the team's efforts, Lafort said, "I think our team has a great mindset. We are improving. It doesn't matter if we win or lose right now as long as we continue to improve and learn."
Elmhurst one four matches of ten against Aurora. Besides Lefort, 145 pounder Grace Johnson came away with a come-from-behind fall. Valentina Fantoni and Anjali Gonzalez were also winners.
