Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Bluejays Stay Unbeaten With Gritty Home Win Over MSOE

ELMHURST, Ill. — Elmhurst men's basketball continued its impressive early-season surge on Wednesday night, grinding out a hard-earned 71–67 victory over MSOE inside R.A. Faganel Hall. The Bluejays moved to 3–0 behind a poised second-half performance and another balanced effort from a veteran core supported by a group of emerging young standouts.

Dominic Trelenberg powered the Bluejays with a game-high 26 points, knocking down six three-pointers and delivering clutch baskets each time Elmhurst needed a spark. His shot-making helped the Bluejays navigate a tight first half that featured seven ties and eight lead changes, ultimately sending the game to halftime trailing by just two.

Elmhurst's defensive pressure and playmaking became the difference after the break. The Bluejays forced 22 MSOE turnovers on the night—turning those into 29 points—and saw multiple players step up in key moments. Aidyn Boone again delivered an all-around impact, finishing with 13 points, 11 rebounds, and strong interior defense. Vinnie Adjahoungbeta added 13 points and six boards while anchoring the defensive end with four steals and two blocks.

The Bluejays' offensive rhythm sharpened late, as timely ball movement produced five second-half three-pointers and an 8-for-13 performance at the free-throw line to close out the Raiders. Elmhurst also controlled tempo when it mattered, committing only seven turnovers after halftime and winning the fast-break battle.

Luke Smith contributed seven points and three assists, while Sebastian Blachut and Jack Cherry provided valuable minutes and steady decision-making in the backcourt. Despite MSOE shooting an efficient 28-for-56 from the field, Elmhurst's pressure, depth, and late composure secured the win.

With three victories to open the season and a roster blending experienced leadership with exciting young talent, the Bluejays continue to build early momentum and generate plenty of buzz around Faganel Hall. Elmhurst returns to action on November 22 at 3:00 p.m., traveling to Jacksonville, Illinois, for a road matchup against Illinois College.
