Results

The Elmhurst University women's soccer team secured a comprehensive 3–0 home win over Knox on Wednesday night at Langhorst Field, striking twice inside the 18th minute and adding a late insurance tally to cap a dominant performance.

Elmhurst (10-5-2) seized control midway through the first half. In the opening half of play Kelli Coughlin opened the scoring off a well-worked sequence from Ellie Muscarello and Maddie Cummings. Seconds later, the Bluejays doubled the lead as Lauren Nevins finished for her 11th of the season, sending Elmhurst into the break up 2–0.

The Bluejays piled on pressure after halftime with a sustained run of corners and shots. Nora Simon put the match away in the 87th minute, firing home for a 3–0 margin. Elmhurst outshot Knox 24–4 and placed 15 attempts on frame, while earning seven corner kicks (two in the first half, five in the second).

Simon led the attack with five shots (three on goal) and the late strike. Nevins added four shots (three on goal) with her first-half tally, and Coughlin scored while logging three shots. Muscarello recorded an assist and a shot on target; Cummings added an assist. Grace Bray contributed two shots on goal, while Emily Herlihy, Haley Jeske, and MaiLei Garcia each forced saves as part of a balanced attacking front.

Defensively, Elmhurst did not allow a shot on target. Goalkeepers Erin Fitzharris (58:06) and Sequoia Ross (31:54) combined on the shutout without a save required, backed by a back line that limited Knox to four total shots and controlled the penalty area throughout.

The Bluejays close the night with a convincing nonconference result and momentum for the stretch run. The Bluejays will be back on the field this Saturday October 25th, against Carthage at Langhorst Field.
