Results

ELMHURST, Ill. – The Elmhurst University football team dropped a 48–7 decision to Augustana College in a Saturday night CCIW matchup at Langhorst Field on October 11, 2025.

The Vikings struck first at the begining of the opening quarter, but the Bluejays responded quickly with a seven-play, 74-yard drive capped by a 22-yard touchdown pass from John Odom to A.D. RussellLogan Turney added the extra point to tie the game at 7–7. The scoring drive began at the Elmhurst 26-yard line and featured a balanced mix of rushes and completions before Odom's strike to Russell found the end zone.

Augustana regained the lead late in the first quarter on a one-yard rushing score and added to its advantage in the second quarter with a pair of touchdowns and a 47-yard field goal as time expired, building a 32–7 halftime cushion.

The Vikings extended their lead in the third quarter with a 46-yard touchdown pass and a 16-yard scoring completion. Elmhurst's special teams provided a bright spot moments later as Ethan Stewart broke through to block the ensuing PAT attempt. Augustana closed its scoring with a 38-yard field goal in the final minute of the third quarter to make it 48–7.

The Bluejays' defense and special teams kept the fourth quarter scoreless. Elmhurst mounted one final nine-play drive that reached the Augustana 32-yard line before turning the ball over on downs with just over two minutes remaining.

Statistically, Elmhurst finished with 93 rushing yards, 119 passing yards, and 13 first downs, maintaining possession 60 percent of the game. Augustana totaled 477 yards of offense and 22 first downs. The Bluejays' lone score came on the Odom-to-Russell connection, while Turney converted his only PAT. Stewart's third-quarter block highlighted an otherwise steady performance from the special teams unit.

The Bluejays return to action next week in St. Louis, Missouri, against Washington University, on October 18th at 1:00 pm.
