NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The Elmhurst University women's baskerball team headed down to North Central College for their ninth conference game of the season.
The Bluejays (11-6, 3-6 CCIW) were led by
Cierra Steemer as she dropped a massive double double with 17 rebounds and 19 points along with three blocks and a steal, while
Kristin Bukata would add 15 points with four rebounds, five assists and two steals.
The Cardnials (7-11, 3-6 CCIW) were led by Jocelyn Trotter as she dropped a double-double with 21 points, 10 rebounds and three steals, two blocks and an assist.
The Bluejays would trail after the first quarter (15-12) as both teams struggled to score. The Jays would fight back in the second as they were able to take a two point lead over the Cardinals into the break, 30-28. Both teams would light up the scoreboard in the third quarter but it was the Cardinals that would outscore the Bluejays (22-20) in the third and bring the game back to even entering the fourth. The Bluejays would carry a short lead into the last minute of the game and were able to hold on by make a few crucial free throws to end with a 69-65 win over another conference foe.

The Bluejays will return to play as they host Augustan College on Wednesday, Jan. 29th at 7:00pm.
