DECATUR, Ill. - The Elmhurst University women's basketball team traveled to Millikin University for another CCIW conference match-up on Saturday (Jan. 18th). 

The Bluejays (10-5, 2-5 CCIW) were led by Kristin Bukata with a season-high 29 points while also adding two rebounds and an assist, block and steal. Sierra Gibson also added 15 points with two added steals. 

The Big Blue (5-11, 4-3 CCIW) were led by Nikkel Johnson as she dropped a double-double 23 points and 17 rebounds with two blocks over as well. 

The Bluejays started the game on a 7-0 run while the Big Blue were able to end the first quarter on a 12-0 run of their own to lead 18-13 at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter both teams were able to have their own little runs of success but ultimately the Big Blue would lead 36-23 at halftime. In the third quater the Bluejays would start on a 12-0 run to make it a 36-36 game in favor of the Big Blue.However the Big Blue were able to get a bit of separation and end the third quarter up 50-43. The Bluejays would try their hardest to push back against the Big Blue but both teams would go back and fourth in scoring ending in a Big Blue win 72-62.

The Bluejays will return to play as they will travel to Carroll University on Wenesday, Jan. 22nd with tip-off at 7pm
