MEQUON, Wis. - The Elmhurst University men's wrestling team took down Concordia University Wisconsin, 39-12, Friday evening on the road.

Elmhurst improved to a 3-2 record overall and in CCIW action, while the Falcons fell to 3-4 and 1-3 in the CCIW.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The meet began with Matthew Nguyen securing six points for his team through a forfeit at 125 lbs. CUW responded at 133 lbs when Anastacio Martinez pinned Donovin Fields in 3:40, earning CUW their first points. Elmhurst regained momentum at 141 lbs, where Joe Fornaro delivered a major decision (19-11) over Christopher Khaosanga. This was followed by Erwin Morales' swift pin at 149 lbs, taking down Frank Budederi in just 1:33. Continuing the streak, Rhenzo Augusto pinned Mason Markham  in 2:33 at 157 lbs, while Mateo Blessing earned six more points for Elmhurst with a forfeit at 165 lbs.

At 174 lbs, Corey Bradley delivered an impressive technical fall victory (19-4 in 4:51) over TJ Mackey. Connor Kelly followed with the fastest pin of the night, defeating Dawson Galvan in just 1:14 at 184 lbs. CUW managed to gain some ground in the heavier weight classes, where at 197 lbs, Ruben Vasquez earned a 12-6 decision over Colin O'Neill, while Peyton Smith closed out the meet with a narrow 4-2 decision against David Ortiz at 285 lbs. Despite dropping the last two matches, Elmhurst secured a comfortable 39-12 victory.
