ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst University women's soccer team hosted Concordia University Chicago on Sunday afternoon at Langhorst field.
The Bluejays (2-1-2), had three goal scorers on the day with
Kelli Coughlin scoring two goals in the 14', assisted by
Lauren Nevins, and 50' minutes,
MaiLei Garcia in the 89' and
Lauren Nevins in the 90', assisted by
Katelyn Guolla. Erin Fitzharrris also earned the clean sheet while making four saves on the day.
The Cougars (3-2), would have few shots on net and their goalkeeper Brooke Sheriff would make eight saves while allowing three of the four Bluejay goals.
The Bluejays controlled most of the game starting in the first half with a great right footed finished by Coughlin to score her first of the day in the 14'. From their both sides would trade chances and by halftime the Bluejays would out shoot the Cougars 9-5 while having the 1-0 lead. In the second half the Bluejays offense would explode to score three goals. Coughlin would score her second of the day on a penalty kick in the 50'. Teammates Garcia and Nevins would add two late goals in the 89' and 90' minute to put away the Cougars with he final score being 4-0.
