LANSING, Mich. - The Elmhurst University Women's Soccer team drew in their road contest at Great Lakes Christian, 2-2, on their Wednesday afternoon tilt.
The Bluejays (1-0-2), scored two late goals with goals coming from
Lauren Nevins in the 73' and
Katelyn Guolla in the 80' minutes.
The Crusaders (2-0-3), answered the Bluejays by scoring a penalty goal by Avery Carr in the 83' and then Chelsea Waller in the 89' minutes.
It was a slow start for both teams on the goals front as no goals would come till the end of the second half, but the first half had some excitement of it's own. The Bluejays would tally six shots and three corners in the first half compared to the Crusaders three shots. In the second half the goals would come as the Bluejays would take a quick 2-0 lead with goals from Nevins and Guolla, However, the Crusaders would receive a penalty kick and convert with the help of Carr. Just six minutes later Waller would add the game tying goal and even the score 2-2, were the final result would hold.
