ELMHURST, Ill. -Â The Elmhurst University football team fell in their home and CCIW opener, 55-7, to Illinois Wesleyan Saturday evening under the lights at Langhorst Field.
Elmhurst (0-2, 0-1 CCIW) was unable to gain momentum offensively, scoring just one touchdown in the contest, while also not being able to stop the rushing attack of the Titans (1-1, 1-0 CCIW).Â
John Odom led a potent Bluejay passing attack, completing 13 passes for 147 yards and one touchdown, with
Jacob Cockrell hauling in six receptions for 107 yards and the lone Jay touchdown.
On the defensive side,
Jace Zeffiro led the Bluejays with 14 total tackles, his second-straight game leading the team, while
Talyn West grabbed 10 tackles on the night.Â
IWU was strong on both sides throughout the evening, totaling 316 yards rushing and 445 total yards offensively.
