CLERMONT, Fla. -Â The Elmhurst University softball team wrapped up their annual Florida spring break trip Sunday afternoon, falling to No. 14 Tufts and No. 17 Massachusets Insitiute of Technology.
Elmhurst (6-8) fought hard in game one, attempting a late comeback with one run in both the sixth and seventh, but was ultimately silenced. Game two was all MIT, as the team jumped to a 4-0 lead through two and 8-0 through four, ending the game in a run-rule, 0-8 in five innings.
Clara Rice and
Bailey Proffitt each tallied an RBI on the day to lead the Elmhurst offense.
UP NEXT
Elmhurst returns to Illinois to take on Lake Forest in a road doubleheader on Thursday, March 29 beginning at 3:00 p.m.
