LAKE FOREST, Ill. -Â The Elmhurst University softball team split a Thursday afternoon doubleheader at Lake Forest College, winning game one 11-4 before falling 0-7 in game two.
Elmhurst (7-9) came out firing in the opening game, scoring five in the second and another four in the fourth to comftorably take game one, 11-4.
Brenna Morley and
Alex Kiriakopoulos matched each other with three RBI's and a pair of hits, while Bailey Harveth scored four of the Jays' runs in the game.
In the circle,
Chiara O'Leary earned the win with a complete-game performance giving up six hits and three earned runs with four strikeouts.
In game two, it was all Lake Forest as the home team notched six runs in the third and another in the fourth, shutting out the Bluejays at the plate, with Morley and
Gianna Amundsen tallying one hit each.Â
UP NEXT
Elmhurst will host Mount Mary tomorrow for a doubleheader tomorrow, march 29, afternoon at 1:00 p.m. in the team's home opener at Salt Creek Park in Elmhurst.
