Bluejays Fall at Carthage

KENOSHA, Wis. - The Elmhurst University men's soccer team traveled to Carthage College for afternoon CCIW contest. 

The Bluejays (6-9-3, 0-6-1 CCIW), Brady Lucas, Ryan Wells, and Ryan Nguyen would all have two shots on goal while goalkeeper Niyen Ruffin would make seven saves on the night. 

The Firebirds (6-8-1, 2-5 CCIW), Mickey Reilly would score in the 16' and Jethro Yumange would score in the 19' and 86'. 

This was a back and forth affair as both teams had numerous chances throughout the game. The Firebirds would strike first just a quarter of an hour into the match with he help of Reilly, and Yumange would add another justa  few minutes later. The Bluejays would lead in chance in the first half with eight shots compared to the Firebirds six shots and would have three corner kicks in the first half as well. The second half was even more offensive as the Jays would have 12 shots while the Firebirds would have 10 of their own with one hitting the back of the net from Yumange for his second goal of the game, both teams would also add on two corner kicks as well. The Firebirds would take home a 3-0 win over the Bluejays.

The Bluejays will play their last game of the season as they host Augustana College for Senior Day on Wednesday, Oct. 30th at 7:30pm CT.
