Elmhurst Ill. - The Elmhurst University Women's Basketball Team fell just short on Wednesday night in their loss to Augustana. 

The Bluejays (7-7, 1-4 CCIW), were led by Nariyah Smith as she dropped 20 points on the night. Anna Kleszynski and Kristin Bukata also dropped double digit points for the Bluejays as well. 

The Vikings (8-5, 3-1 CCIW), were led by Cali Papez who recorded a double-double for the Vikings with 18 points and 12 rebounds. 

The Bluejays took a four point heading into the second quarter, where they would grab one more point and take a five point lead into halftime. The Viking would claw back and bring it back to a one possession game heading into the final quarter. In the fourth quarter both teams would trade baskets heading into the final minutes where the Vikings would just barely hold onto the win.

The Bluejays will return to CCIW action as they will host North Central College on Saturday, January 6th at 2:00 pm. at R.A. Faganel Hall.
