VERONA, Wis. -Â The Elmhurst University baseball team dropped a non-conference tilt with Edgewood College by a score of 3-9 Thursday evening at Stampfl Field.
Elmhurst (8-12, 0-4 CCIW) was down 3-0 early, before the Bluejay bats woke up a trio of runs in the fifth inning to tie the game at three, but the Edgewood (9-7) bats were too much for the Bluejay pitching staff, giving up six runs in the final four innings to fall by a score of 3-9.
Trey Romay and
Zachary Hafner provided the lone RBI on the day for the Bluejays, with Romay tallying a pair of hits on the day, including a double.
Troy Taller also went 2-for-4 with a double in the game, while
Drew Raspolich added a pair of walks and a single for the Elmhurst offense.
Joseph Ingratta started the game for the Bluejays, tossing three innings and giving up three runs on four hits with a pair of strikeouts.
Logan Leach came out of the bullpen and took the loss after giving up a run in the fifth inning, dropping him to 0-1 on the season.

Elmhurst will host Carthage College for a CCIWÂ game on Saturday, April 8, scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. CT first pitch at Butterfield Park.
