FOND DU LAC, Wis. – The Elmhurst University women's lacrosse team fell, 12-1, on the road at Marian University.
The Bluejays were held scoreless in the opening quarter, before
Gracie Eastman put Elmhurst on the board with a free position goal with 5:53 left in the second quarter.
The Sabres led 7-1 at the halftime and went on to outscore Elmhurst 5-0 in the second half to even their overall record to 2-2.
Elmhurst (0-3) was led by Eastman with one goal.
Jacq Vanoni recorded two shots, while teammates
Corinna Salmon and
Andrea Murtland picked up five and four groundballs respectively in the loss.
Marian (2-2) was led by Dallas Kreisa who finished with four points off of three goals and one assist. Nicole Stachon added in two goals and an assist, while Emma Heide contributed three goals in the win. Kayla Kolpitcke and Emma Church each picked up a game-high six groundballs for the Sabres.
Gwen Kosirog earned the win in goal for Marian with two saves, while Salmon collected 21 saves in goal for Elmhurst.
The Bluejays return to Langhorst Field for their next contest to host Beloit College on Tuesday, March 14 at 4:00 p.m.
