DECATUR, Ill. – The Elmhurst University women's basketball team suffered a 101-28 loss on the road to No. 25 Millikin University.
The Big Blue (20-4/14-1 CCIW) controlled the game offensively from the first whistle. They boasted a 60-18 lead at the end of the half and went on to outscore the Bluejays 41-10 in the second half.
The Bluejays (3-20/1-14 CCIW) were led by
Payton Schmidt with eight points and three boards.
Katie Matrise netted seven points, while
Marissa Mussatto chipped in six points in the loss.
Elyce Knudsen led Millikin with 20 points and dished out five assists, while teammate Sarah Isaf followed closely behind with 17 points and four boards. Chelsea McCullum and Bailey Coffman finished with 15 points apiece, while Alana Terry added in 10 points of her own in the win.
Elmhurst committed 27 turnovers which allowed Millikin to score 42 of its 101 points.
The Bluejays shot just 18.4 percent (9-of-49) from the field compared to the host team's 53.4 percent (39-of-73).
