RIVER GROVE, Ill. -Â The Elmhurst University wrestling team wrapped up competition at the Art Kraft Invitational Saturday morning/afternoon.
The Bluejays had a trio of wrestlers place within their brackets, with
Colin O'Neill placing fifth at 184, while
Donovin Fields and
Stephen Carroll placed eighth in the 125 and 157 brackets, respectively.
O'Neill fell in the second round of the championship bracket, but fought his way back to win the fifth-place match via a 6-5 decision over Maximus Comas of Morton College.Â
Carroll fell in the opening round of the championship bracket, but fought his way back with three-straight match victories, and ultimately fell in the consolation semifinals. Fields followed a similar route, falling in the second round before winning a pair of matches to reach the consolation semifinals, falling in that match for his eighth-place finish.
UP NEXT
Elmhurst heads to Nashville, Tenn. next weekend to participate in the Gator "Boots" Duals on Saturday, Dec. 16.
