Elmhurst Ill. - The Elmhurst University Women's Basketball team capped off 2023 with a huge win over St. Mary's (Minn.), 81-49, on Friday, December 29th at R.A. Faganel Hall.
The Bluejays (7-6, 1-3 CCIW), were led by
Anna Kleszynski as she scored 20 points for the Bluejays and grabbed five rebounds, while
Lindsay Novak dropped 16 points. Together the pair went 11 for 19 from beyond the arc combining for 33 of their 36 points.
The Cardinals (2-9), were led by Katelyn Cruze and Grace Schaffer, combined the pair scored 33 of the teams 49 points.
After a couple lead changes in the first few minutes of the game the Bluejays would jump ahead of the Cardinals taking a 20-13 point lead after the 1st. Kleszynski and Novak would get hot from beyond the arc to extend the Bluejays lead to 29 points at half-time. The Bluejays would carry their large lead over into the third and fourth quarters and finish the Cardnials with a score of 81-49.

The Bluejays will open up the new year as they will host conference foe Augustana on Wednesday, January 3rd at R.A. Faganel Hall at 7:00 pm.
