MEQUON, Wis. -Â The Elmhurst University wrestling team had three wrestlers place at the 2023 Concordia University Wisconsin Open Saturday morning/afternoon.
David Ortiz made a run to the third-place match in the Open 285 division, placing fourth after losing via decision. Overall, Ortiz went 4-2 on the day.
Jake Mora was the Bluejays' other placement, placing sixth in the Open 133 division after a medical forefit placed him sixth.
Troy Mock bounced back from a first round loss, winning four-straight matches and falling in the consolation bracket championship to place eighth in the Open 141 division.
Overall, 22 Bluejays competed in the event against fellow CCIW foes North Central Colege amongst others.
UP NEXT
Elmhurst will compete in their second dual match of the season in two weeks, taking on Carthage College on the road for a 7:00 p.m. match on Thursday, Nov. 30.
