ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Elmhurst University women's basketball team fell on the road to Augustana College, 76-33, at the Roy J. Carver Center.
The Bluejays struggled offensively scoring single digits in three quarters. Elmhurst narrowly outscored the Vikings in the final period 11-9.
Augustana was led by Cali Papez who finished with 18 points and six boards. Macy Beinborn followed closely behind with 13 points and five assists, while teammate Carly Stone chipped in eight points of her own. Presley Case dished out a game-high six assists for the Vikings in the win.
Anna Kleszynski led the way for the Bluejays with eight points and eight rebounds.
Kendall Schieppe contributed six points, while
Cate Boling finished with five points in the loss.
Elmhurst shot 24.5 percent (13-of-53) from the field compared to Augustana's 45.5 percent (30-of-66). The Vikings fared better from behind the arc as well shooting 36.8 percent (7-of-19) while the Bluejays shot 22.7 percent (5-of-22) from downtown.
