MOLINE, Ill. – The Elmhurst University baseball team suffered a 20-7 setback on the road at Augustana College.
 
Elmhurst (8-13/1-6 CCIW) built a 7-6 lead only to have Augustana (17-5) score the final 14 runs of the game to pull away for the seven-inning victory.
 
Elmhurst jumped out to an early lead with a five-run first inning. Trey Romay scored on a wild pitch to put the Bluejays on the board. Jesse James smashed a grand slam to stake Elmhurst to a quick 5-0 lead. Augustana answered back immediately with six runs in the bottom of the first.

Elmhurst pulled even at 6-6 in the third on a RBI single from James. The Bluejays went back in front in the fourth after Romay scored on a wild pitch for the second time in the contest.
 
Augustana broke things open in the middle innings, scoring four times in the fourth, four times in the fifth and six runs in the sixth.

James finished with two of Elmhurst's seven hits in the loss and accounted for all five of the Bluejays' RBIs.
 
Augustana did its damage from the bottom of the order as James Dellitt, Alec McGinniss, Griffen Pschigoda and Zachary Vrbancic combined for 14 RBIs from the six, seven, eight and nine spots in the order.
 
J.D. Knight took the loss in relief, working three inning and allowing three hits and three earned runs. He walked three and struck out three.
 
Elmhurst hosts Dominican University on Tuesday, April 12.
