Jake Rhode scored 17 points and tied Elmhurst University's all-time scoring record while the Bluejays' men's basketball team rolled past Carroll University 93-67 to record their fifth consecutive victory.

Rhode finished with 17 points, giving him 1,914 points for his career, tying the mark set by Pat Lira from 1952-56.

Elmhurst fell behind 8-4 out of the gate, but the Bluejays responded with a 7-0 run to move in front 11-8. They would not trail for the remainder of the half. Leading 14-13, the Bluejays rattled off a 14-2 run to open up a 13-point cushion with 8:47 left in the half. Carroll battled back with 12 straight points to cut the Bluejays' lead down to one with 6:29 left. Elmhurst pushed its lead up to eight points (37-30) at the half.

The Bluejays pulled away quickly in the second half. Leading 49-40, Elmhurst rattled off a 12-3 run to open up an 18-point cushion with 15 minutes left. Carroll came no closer than a 15-point deficit for the remainder of the contest as the Bluejays gradually pulled away for the 26-point victory.

Elmhurst shot 57.9 percent (33-of-57) from the floor, including 42.1 percent (8-of-19) from 3-point distance. Elmhurst controlled the game inside, outscoring Carroll 46-22 in the paint and finishing with a 38-29 advantage on the glass.

Ocean Johnson pumped in a game-high 18 points to lead the Bluejays' offense. Johnson shot 7-of-14 from the floor and added eight rebounds in the win. Rhode tallied 17 points to go with three assists while hitting four 3-pointers on the night.
Wesley Hooker and
Dominic Genco added 12 points and four assists apiece for the Bluejays.
Lavon Thomas finished with nine points while
Jay Militello totaled eight points and nine rebounds for the Bluejays. Militello added four steals and three assists in the win.

Carroll shot just 39.0 percent (25-of-59) from the floor but hit on 9-of-19 attempts (47.4 percent) from downtown. The Pioneers were led by Justin Steinike's 17 points and nine rebounds. Justin Gruber and Trenton Nickel tallied eight points apiece for Carroll.
