CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa.- The Elmhurst University women's basketball team dropped their non-conference finale, 47-72, to Coe College Friday afternoon inside Kohawk Arena.
Sophomore 
Kendall Schieppe tallied a career-high 14 points on 5-for-10 shooting from the field, including a 4-for-6 mark from beyond the arc. Freshman 
Anna Kleszynski recorded her fourth-straight double-digit scoring effort, tallying 10 points. 
Anna Sheedy led the Bluejays on the boards with five, while 
Katie Matrise tallied a trio of assists in the contest to lead Elmhurst.
Coe was led by Kaalyn Petersen, who tallied a game-high 17 points on 8-for-12 shooting from the field while also adding six rebounds for the Kohawks. Molly Buck tallied eight rebounds for Coe to lead the team, while Caydee Kirkham tallied six assists.
The Kohawks led for the entirety of the game, jumping out to a quick 10-2 lead before two pairs of free throws from Matrise brought the score within seven. With the deficit standing at eight after the first quarter, a jumper from Kleszynski brought the score within six for the Bluejays before a 15-3 run by the Kohawks extended the home teams lead to 18. 
The Bluejays kept fighting despite a double-digit deficit in the second half, with a Sheedy jumper closing the deficit to 15, but the Kohawks outscored Elmhurst 14-10 in the final quarter to seal the non-conference victory for Coe.

The Bluejays return to R.A. Faganel Hall on Wednesday, Jan. 4 to take on Augustana College in a CCIW conference matchup tipping off at 7:00 p.m. CT.
