KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Elmhurst University women's soccer team lost to Kalamazoo College 3-2 at MacKenzie Field.

After a brief weather delay, the Bluejays came out ready for a fight. In the ninth minute of play, Elmhurst's
MJ Lessila connected with teammate
Hannah Bacon who put the ball past Kalamazoo goalkeeper Lexi Nesbitt and gave the Bluejays the 1-0 lead.

Kalamazoo's Destiny Garcia tied the match up in the 27
th minute.Â

Elmhurst broke the 1-1 tie just two minutes into the second half of play.Â
Sophia Senese found the back of the net to give the Bluejays the 2-1 lead.

The Hornets Anna Murphy found teammate Kai Ketola who tied the game up at two a piece in the 59
th minute of play. Just two minutes later, Garcia tallied her second goal of the contest to give the Hornets the 3-2 victory.

Kalamazoo outshot Elmhurst 17-10 in the match. Elmhurst's goalkeeper
MaKenzee Velchek tallied 10 saves while Nesbitt earned the win for Kalamazoo with six saves.
