FULTON, Mo. – The Elmhurst University women's soccer team scored its first win of the season with a 3-0 victory against Westminster College at Kent and Judith Mueller Stadium.
A scoreless first half meant it was going to be a Battle of the Bluejays after the break.
Elmhurst (1-2-0) took control on offense for the remainder of the contest.
Hannah Bacon tallied her second goal of the season in the 71
st minute of play off of an assist from teammate
Taylor Johnson to give Elmhurst a 1-0 lead.
Just three minutes later,
Gabby Ketola found the back of the net to give the Bluejays a 2-0 lead over the home team.
In the 88
th minute, Bacon found
MJ Lessila who scored the final Bluejay goal for the 3-0 win on the road.
Westminster (0-4-1) goalkeeper, Megan Davidson, collected seven saves, while Elmhurst's
MaKenzee Velchek earned the shutout with three saves.
The Bluejays head to Hope College in Holland, Mich. on Tuesday, September 14 for their next match.
