The Elmhurst University men's soccer team suffered a 2-1 overtime loss to Benedictine University at the Village of Lisle-Benedictine University Sports Complex.
The Bluejays fell to a 1-2 overall on the season with the loss against the Eagles.
The sole Bluejay goal was scored by
Ilija Jerinic in the 42
nd minute of play.
It looked as though the win would go to Elmhurst, but with just 18 seconds left in regulation Benedictine's Michal Szaflarski capitalized on a penalty by Elmhurst in the box. The made penalty kick tied the game up at one apiece and forced the game into overtime.
Two minutes into overtime, Benedictine's Omar Barragan found the back of the net to end the game and give the Eagles the 2-1 victory.

Noah Reed tallied four saves during the contest and Benedictine's goalkeeper Chris Rubio earned the win with one save.
The Bluejays return home for their next match against Lake Forest College on Wednesday, September 8.
