Box Score RIVER FOREST, Ill. – The Elmhurst University men's soccer team defeated Dominican University 3-2 at West Campus Field in River Forest.
 
Elmhurst's James Serrano put the Bluejays on the board in the 26^th minute of play off of an assist by teammate Hayden Madsen.

Shortly after, the Stars responded with a goal of their own.  Dominican's Garrett Boston, assisted by teammates Zachary Gamster and Giovannie Ortiz, tied the game up at one apiece in the 34^th minute.
 
With just five minutes left in the half, Elmhurst's Ben Gudas put the ball in the back of the net off of an assist from Jeff Milostan to give the Bluejays the lead heading into the locker room.
 
The Bluejays made the lead 3-1 in the 63^rd minute when Illija Jerinic found Gudas for his second goal of the contest.
 
Dominican's Dylan Alic made it a one-goal match in the 70^th minute, scoring off of an assist from Jesus Lopez.
 
 While the Stars outshot the Bluejays 16-5, Elmhurst (1-1) was still able to earn its first victory of the season.
 
Elmhurst's Noah Reed earned the win in goal with three saves.
 
The Bluejays hope to carry the momentum from this win into their next contest on Sunday, September 5, at Benedictine University.
