ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst University women's tennis team scored its first win of the season with a 6-3 victory over Illinois Wesleyan University at the Brune Tennis Courts.
Elmhurst (1-3/1-2 CCIW) won two of the three doubles matches and four singles contests in the victory.
In doubles play, Elmhurst's No. 1 pairing of
Julia Kostadinova and Isabela Rahman defeated Anna Cooper and Ashley Mohr 8-1. The Titans' No. 2 duo of Rebecca Rochacz and Katelyn Heller defeated Elmhurst's
Morgan Bilancia and Megan Enfstrom 8-3. The Bluejays' No. 3 team of Bailey Ekstand and
June Bering earned a win by forfeit.
In singles play, Rochacz stopped Kostadinova 7-6, 6-1 at No. 1 while Bilancia defeated Cooper 7-6, 6-1 at No. 2. Mohr stopped Ekstrand 6-2, 6-1 at No.3 while Rahman defeated Heller 6-2, 6-4 at No.4. Bering and Engstrom earned forfeit wins at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively.
The Bluejays travel to Augustana on April 13 at 4:00 p.m.
