ELMHURST, Ill. – The Elmhurst University baseball team banged out 15 hits while cruising to a 14-1 seven-inning victory over Illinois Wesleyan University at Butterfield Park.

Elmhurst upped its record to 15-17 overall and 10-14 in the CCIW with the victory. Illinois Wesleyan slid to 16-14 overall and 11-11 in league play.

The Titans jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead with a run in the second, but Elmhurst answered back immediately as
Lorenzo Farino blasted the first of three Elmhurst home runs on the day to knot the score at 1-1.

Elmhurst broke the game open in the bottom of the fourth. The Bluejays sent 10 batters to the plate and scored six times.
Paul Fomby started the scoring with a two-run homer to right field to put Elmhurst up 3-1. After the Bluejays loaded the bases with just one out,
Drew Raspolich roped a bases-clearing double off the fence in left-center to extend Elmhurst's lead to 6-1. The Bluejays cashed in on an IWU error to make it 7-1 after four innings.

The Bluejays continued to pull away in the fifth, plating five runs as a pair of IWU errors opened the floodgates and led to three unearned runs.
Carter Truong and Raspolic each drove in a run in the inning and
Tyler Kledzik singled home a pair of runs to make the score 12-1. The Bluejays tacked on two insurance runs in the sixth as Fomby led off the inning with a solo blast over the 380-foot sign in left center field.
Freddie March doubled home the Bluejays' final run of the game to make the final score 14-1.

Troy Taller finished a perfect 4-for-4 on the day at the plate with a pair of runs scored. Fomby finished 3-for-4 with three runs scored and three driven in. Truong and Kledzik added a pair of hits apiece while Raspolich drove in a team-high four runs.

Jaysn Miller made the start and earned the win for the Bluejays. Miller tossed five innings and limited the Titans to just four hits and one run. He walked one and struck out two in the contest.
Alex Kielion pitched two perfect innings in relief, striking out five while not allowing a hit.

Elmhurst travels to North Park University on May 4.
