CHICAGO, Ill. – The Elmhurst softball team returned to action and suffered an 8-0 road loss at North Park University.

North Park scored four runs in the first and four more in the third to score the 8-0 victory in five innings. The Vikings jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first thanks to a two-run double by Caitlyn Webb and a two-run homer from Alyssa Malicki.

The Vikings used RBIs from Alyssa Aragaon, Rachael Feazelle, Emily Reczek and Brigid Early to score four times in the fourth and put the game out of reach.

The Bluejays were limited to just four hits in the loss.

Karly Krown took the loss for the Bluejays, working four innings and allowing seven hits and eight runs. She walked four and struck out three. Malicki picked up the win for the Vikings, tossing four innings and allowing four hits. She struck out four while not issuing a walk.

Elmhurst travels to Millikin University on Friday, April 30.
