ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst men's tennis team dropped a 9-0 non-conference contest to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater at the Brune Tennis Courts.
UW-Whitewater (10-1) swept the six singles matches and all three double matches while taking the victory. Elmhurst slipped to 1-8 on the year following the loss.
In doubles play, Jake Macey and Alex Gray defeated the Bluejays' duo of Justin Pendao and
Ben Cavka 8-3 at No.1. Ryan Mitchell and Noah Guillermo scored an 8-5 victory over Elmhurst's No. 2 pairing of
Brandon Fulmer and
Florin Stan. Parker Hearne and Ridley Aranda stopped
Shawn Sabaricos and
Tavious Imperial 8-4 at No. 3.
In singles contests, Macey downed Penados 6-0, 6-2 at No. 1 while Cole Lindwall defeated Fulmer 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3. Brendan Pietila defeted Stan 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3 while Brayden Kopp scored a 7-5, 6-2 victory over Cavka at No. 4. Guillermo toppled Sabaricos 6-1, 2-6, 10-6 at No. 5 while Noah Wankerl toppled Imperial 6-2, 6-0 at No. 6.
Elmhurst plays at Carthage College on May 1.
