HANOVER PARK, Ill. - The Elmhurst University men's tennis team suffered a 9-0 loss to North Central College in a CCIW dual at Centre Court Racquet Club.
North Central (8-5/4-1) swept the three doubles matches and all six singles contests while taking the victory. Elmhurst fell to 1-7/1-5 CCIW on the season.
In doubles play, Guillermo Gonzalez and Andy Hinch defeated Elmhurst's
Justin Penados and
Ben Cavka 8-2 at No. 1 doubles. Javier Suarez and Ramon Vilarroig stopped
Brandon Fulmer and
Florin Stan 8-1 at No.2. Morgan Red and Justin Howes scored an 8-3 victory over Elmhurst's
Shawn Sabaricos and
Tavious Imperial at No. 3.
In singles play, Suarez downed Penados 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 while Gonzalez stopped Fulmer 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2. Vilarroig defeated Cavka 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 while Hinch scored a 6-2, 6-4 win over Stan at No. 4. Red defeated Sabaricos at No. 5 (6-0, 6-1) an Daniel Urraca stopped Imperial 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6.
