ELMHURST, Ill. – The Elmhurst women's tennis team dropped an 8-1 contest to Millikin University at Brune Tennis Courts.
 
Elmhurst (1-6/1-5 CCIW) scored its point in doubles play. The Bluejays' tandem of Julia Kostadinova and Isabella Rahman scored an 8-6 win over the Big Blue's Brianna Barconi and Cristina Borunda at No. 1. Millikin's Shelby Jones and Destiny Galvan upended Bailey Ekstrand and Megan Engstrom 8-0 at No. 2 while Katie Cooper and Nikol Obradovic toppled Elmhurst's Valerie Schallmo and Alita Munoz 8-0 at No. 3.
 
In singles play, Obradovic toppled Kostadinova 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1 while Barconi defeated Bering 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2. Borunda scored a 6-1, 6-1 win over Rahman at No. 3 and Taylor Milholland upended Ekstrand 6-2, 6-4 at No. 4. Danielle Beard scored a 7-6, 6-0 victory over Engstrom at No. 5 while Cooper defeated Schallmo 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6.
 
Elmhurst hosts Grace College tomorrow (April 17).
