ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The Elmhurst University men's tennis team suffered an 8-1 setback at the hands of Augustana College.
 
Elmhurst (1-4/1-2 CCIW) scored a win at No.1 doubles as the Bluejays' duo of Justin Penados and Ben Cavka defeated Peter Alex and Kyle Boudreau 8-5. Augustana (6-3/4-0 CCIW) scored wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. Caio DeRezende and Alvaro Leal stopped Shawn Sabaricos and Brandon Fulmer 8-2 at No. 2 while Justin Cassens and Leonard Pasnosse downed Florin Stan and Tavious Imperial 8-5 at No. 3.
 
The Vikings swept the six singles contests with DeRezende downing Penados 6-4, 6-1 at No.1. Alex defeated Stan 6-2, 6-3 and Leal upended Sabaricos 6-1, 6-0 at No.3. Panosso downed Fulmer 6-3, 6-3 at No. 4 while Eliot St. Paul defeated Cavka 7-6, 6-0 at No. 5. Cassens finished the sweep with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Imperial at No. 6.
 
Elmhurst hosts Millikin University on Saturday, April 17.
