BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Elmhurst University men's basketball team's season came to a close with a 75-65 loss at Illinois Wesleyan University in the semifinals of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Tournament.

Elmhurst (7-3) jumped out to an early lead, building a 23-18 cushion with eight minutes left in the first half. The Bluejays went cold for the next seven minutes as Illinois Wesleyan used a 24-6 run to open up a 13-point cushion with under a minute remaining. Elmhurst managed to cut the deficit down to 10 (42-32) at halftime.

Elmhurst cut the lead down to seven points at the start of the second half, but the Titans responded with a 21-5 run to open up a commanding 23-point (63-40) lead midway through the half. The Bluejays trailed by double digits for nearly the remainder of the contest, closing to within eight points with 19 seconds left before falling 75-65.

The Bluejays shot 40.3 percent (25-of-62) from the floor, but the team was ice cold from three-point distance, hitting just 4-of-23 attempts for a season-low 17.4 percent. Illinois Wesleyan shot 43.1 percent (28-of-65) from the floor, including 38.5 percent (10-of-26) from downtown. The Titans outrebounded the Bluejays 45-36 and turned 14 Elmhurst turnovers into 23 points.

Dominic Genco led the Bluejays with 23 points while shooting 10-of-14 from the floor. He added five rebounds in the contest.
Lavon Thomas added 10 points and four rebounds while
Jay Militello totaled nine points and five boards.
Jonathan Zapinski scored eight points and grabbed five rebounds.
Ebrahim Jobe came off the bench to pull down a team-leading seven rebounds.

Luke Yoder paced Illinois Wesleyan in the loss, finishing with 23 points and five rebounds while shooting 7-of-13 from the floor. Doug Wallen scored 15 points off the bench while Matthew Leritz tallied a double-double of 10 points and 15 rebounds for the Titans.
