Elmhurst University's soccer squad fell to Illinois Wesleyan University 5-3 in their first game of the 2021 regular season.

The Details
·        In the third minute of the game Ethan Kovach shot and netted a goal in the top right corner to give the Bluejays the early 1-0 lead.
·        The Titans responded with a goal from Zack Kokes in the 22nd minute of the game to tie things up at 1-1.
·        After substitutions from each team the Titans struck again, Sasha Tylnyy netted a pass from CJ Rodriguez to take the lead.
·        In the second half Illinois Wesleyan extended their lead 3-1 after Keagan James scored in the 57th minute.
·        In the 64th minute Trevor Martin shot and scored a goal in the top right corner to put the Titans up 4-1.
·        The Bluejays did not go away, Sebastian Rincon scored an unassisted goal in the 74th minute to trail the Titans 4-2.
·        Two minutes later, Illinois Wesleyan struck again after Joshua Cohen finished a pass from Rodriguez.
·        Brady Lucas scored for the Bluejays in the 87th minute but the Titans would hold on to secure the 5-3 victory.
The Bluejays will return to Langhorst Field on April 7, 2021 to host Carthage College at 7:30 P.M.
