CHICAGO, Ill. – The Elmhurst University women's basketball team suffered a setback to North Park University dropping the contest 86-76.
The Bluejays monster 35-point fourth quarter was not enough to take down the Vikings. North Park (7-2) led by as many as 26 points with 4:51 left in the third quarter, but Elmhurst was able to cut the lead down to 10 in the final minute of the fourth quarter.
Elmhurst (1-9) finished the game with three players in double-figures.
Taylor Harazin led the way with 18 points and nine rebounds.
Marissa Mussatto added in 13 points and five boards, while Katelyn Matthews chipped in 10 points and five rebounds.
Payton Schmidt posted a game-high four assists in the loss.
North Park boasted four players in double-figures in the win. Jayla Johnson scored a game-high 25 points and eight rebounds. Following closely behind was Emily Czuhajewski, who chipped in 19 points, five rebounds and three assists. Lauren Lee and Chantel Hairston each added 10 points apiece.
The Bluejays out-rebounded the Vikings 47 to 38, however the Vikings outshot the Bluejays from the field 49.3 percent (34-69) to 39.4 percent (28-of-71).
Elmhurst is back in action on Saturday, December 18 at R.A. Faganel Hall against Carroll University.
