AURORA, Ill. – The Elmhurst University women's basketball team fell to Aurora University 103-73 at Thornton Gymnasium.

After the first quarter, the game was tied at 20 apiece, however, the Spartans outscored the Bluejays in the following three quarters to secure their first victory of the season.
 
Elmhurst (0-2) finished with four Bluejays in double figures. Payton Schmidt led the blue and white with 13 points and three assists.  Katie Matrise and Ella Riley each posted 11 points and three and two rebounds, respectively. Marissa Urso also chipped in 10 points and two rebounds in the loss.
 
Aurora (1-0) scored 43 of its 103 points in the contest off of 36 Elmhurst turnovers.

The Spartans were led in scoring by Crystal Rios who had 17 points and seven rebounds. Following close behind was Savannah Johnson who chipped in 14 points and five rebounds. Both Gabby Moore and April Tuason had 13 points and one and three assists respectively. Eliot Dojutrek added 12 points and three assists for the home team.  

The Bluejays host the Hanover College Panthers in their home opener on Friday, November 12.
