ELMHURST, Ill. – The Elmhurst University women's soccer team played Carroll University to a scoreless draw at Langhorst Field.

Elmhurst moved to 3-6-1 overall and 1-3-1 in the CCIW with the draw. Carroll moved to 8-3-2 overall and 0-2-1 in league play.

Carroll outshout the Bluejays 8-1 in the opening half, but the game remained scoreless after the first 45 minutes of play. The Pioneers put six of their eight shots on goal in the opening half.

Elmhurst had its best chance of the night in the 67th minute when
Sam Shafiabady broke free for a one-on-one. Shafiabady's shot was saved by Carroll's Rachel Jenewein and her rebound shot attempt was blocked by Carroll.
Carroll had a pair of chances in the 81
st minutes, but a defensive save by the Bluejays and a shot off the crossbar kept the game scoreless.

Neither team managed a shot in the first overtime. The Bluejays had three corner kicks in the second over time but could not convert on the set pieces.

MaKenzie Velchek recorded nine saves in goal for the Bluejays to earn the shutout. Jenewein stopped three shots for Carroll.

Elmhurst hosts Benedictine University on October 17.
