ELMHURST, Ill. – The Elmhurst University women's tennis team suffered a 9-0 loss to Augustana College.
 
Augustana (4-3/4-2 CCIW) swept the three doubles matches and all six singles contests.
 
In doubles play, Elmhurst's Julia Kostadinova and Isabella Rahman suffered an 8-2 loss to Lily Schoeck and Caitlyn Hanulikova at No. 1. Megan Engstrom and Silvia Barak fell 8-3 at No. 2 to Augustana's Grace Rider and Lauren Oda. At No. 3 doubles, Elmhurst's pair of Bailey Ekstrand and Brynn Rubacky suffered an 8-3 setback to Michaela Magee and Mia Reese.
 
In singles play, Schoeck toppled Kostadinova 6-0, 6-0 at No.1 while Magee upended Barak 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2. Hanulikova stopped Barak 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 while Oda defeated Rahman 6-0, 6-4 at No. 2. Eckstrand and Engstrom both took their matches to three sets before falling. Ekstrand fell 5-7, 6-3, 3-10 to Reese at No. 5 while Nicole Pacheco defeated Engstrom 6-2, 3-6, 10-7 at No. 6
 
Elmhurst hosts North Central College on Saturday, October 9.
