ELMHURST, Ill. – The Elmhurst University men's soccer team closed out the season with a 1-0 loss to the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Pioneers at Langhorst Field.
In the 31
st minute of play, UW-Platteville's Konrad Ziaja served the ball into the goalbox off of a free kick where teammate Matt Walter was able to sneak one past Elmhurst's
Noah Reed for the sole goal of the contest.
The Pioneers (13-4-2) and Bluejays were neck and neck in the stat book. UW-Platteville tallied 12 shots, while Elmhurst shot 11 times. Both teams also earned six corner kicks a piece.

Elmhurst's Reed collected three saves, while UW-Platteville goalkeeper, Chase Werner, earned the win and shutout with five saves.

Elmhurst closed out its 2021 season with an 8-8-2 overall record and a 4-3-1 mark in the CCIW.
