MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Elmhurst University volleyball team improved to 15-11 overall by scoring a 25-11, 25-16, 25-9 victory over Mount Mary University at the Wisconsin Lutheran College Invitational.
Elmhurst raced out to a 10-4 lead in the opening set and never looked back, building a 23-9 lead and coasting to the 25-11 victory.
The Bluejays scored the first points in the opening set and never trailed, leading wire-to-wire and cruising to the 25-16 win. Elmhurst scored the first five points in the third set on its way to a 16-point victory and the three set sweep.
Elmhurst hit .387 with 38 kills and just nine errors in 79 attempts.
Jada Wiley led Elmhurst with 10 kills and a pair of blocks.
Emily Duis added eight kills and four blocks.
Erin Murray tallied five kills and eight assists while
Kellyn Kennedy finished with nine assists.
Taylor Zurliene and
Elise Rossing added four kills each.
Valerie Thomas added 10 digs while
Emily Finkbeiner tallied four digs and four aces.
Jacklyn Mozdzen led Mount Mary in the loss with five kills.
Elmhurst takes on Wisconsin Lutheran College and Loras College tomorrow.
