ELMHURST, Ill. -
Gabby Ketola scored a pair of goals to lead the Elmhurst University women's soccer team to a 3-0 shutout victory over North Park University at Langhorst Field.
Elmhurst evened its CCIW record at 1-1 with the victory. The Bluejays improved to 3-5 overall.
Ketola put the Bluejays on the scoreboard in the 15th minute.
Hannah Bacon sent a long ball through the defense and Ketola worked around Vikings' goalie Theresa Weiss for a tap in goal.
Ketola scored in the 68th minute to give Elmhurst a two-goal lead. She collected a
Lauryn Wesoloski pass and scored before being taken down in the box.
Ketola assisted on the Bluejays' final goal in the 81st minute, setting up teammate
Sam Johnson for a goal in front to make the final score 3-0.
Elmhurst outshot North Park 17-7 in the contest.
MaKenzee Velchek earned the shutout win in goal for the Bluejays by recording two saves. Weiss stopped seven shots for the Vikings.
Elmhurst hosts Millikin University on Wednesday, October 6.
